Cleaning what a horrible word....

Just kidding I do adore a tidy house however I would love it even more if someone else was doing it... So I guess its time to bring out that broom,vacuum cleaner,the mop, furniture polish,the glass cleaner, bath cleaner and all purpose cleaner and don't forget febreeze to freshen up the stuff you can't wash like the chair and the sofa.. Then on to steam cleaning the carpets I so can't wait to get hardwood floors.. I'm dreamin about them right now like I have for the past 8years I guess one of these days I will (I hope)...
So I guess I will go and do my chores...

How lucky we are to live in America where so many have given their lives for our freedom..

The brave men and women who have served and who are serving in our military thank you to you and your families.. What is the main important meaning of our country.. I believe it is love,honor,equality and freedom for all... As a child not realizing how important the 4Th really is for us I thought it was just so much fun going to the parade and watching those beautiful fireworks.. Yes I knew it was a celebration but not really what a celebration it was!!!!

we will be with love ones enjoying the relaxation
and the pool and the parade will be nice too and
the biggest grandest fan ally of the night is the FIREWORKS....

Howdy!!! Just wanted to give a holler to tell y'all I'm dedicating this post to the very best...

My DADDY of course.. He has always been there for me since I was small holding my hand and guiding me through all life's up's and downs.. I hope he knows how special he is and how irreplaceable he really is.. So happy Father's Day.. Just wanted to share a few pictures with y'all..

SUMMERTIME IS HERE...

IT IS HERE.. THE SUN IS SHINING BRIGHT IN THE BIG OL SKY..
We wished that all those gloomy winter days of frigid weather and snow would pass and we got our wish.. It is quite hot here in South Jersey..
Hubby and I are trying to get our pool clear so we can do some well needed swimming.. Hope everyone is having a good summer so far.. This does get me thinkin now that the warm weather has arrived its time for "cool" recipes. Salads, BBQ, Fresh Jersey Corn, Homemade ice cream OH MY this is makin me hungry.. Please share your fav summertime recipe..

MEMORIAL DAY...

A day of remembrance for all those who have lost their lives for our country...

Hubby and I will be with family tomorrow remembering all those soldiers who have passed..

Having several family and friends in the military it is a subject close to heart.. The fear of something to happen..

So please pray for them..

A prayer to all the troops God keep them safe and out of harms way and bring them back home soon....

I wave my flag with great pride and joy...

This post is dedicated to the worlds best mom..

And of course that would be my mom..
My mom has always been there for me no matter what even when I didn't think I needed her..
Always there to give me guidance and of course sympathy when I was hurt courage to try something new ..

There is so many stories to tell some of them quite comical now that I'm older but back in the day boy was I upset. I know I drove my mom crazy when I was little around 2 or 3 I never seemed to like to where clothes so my mom even laughed even though she was embarrassed when the whole neighborhood was chuckling as they saw this little girl on her 10ft slide stark naked in her backyard in front of the post office just catching a few sun rays.




Or the time when I was in the family garage telling our neighbors little boy "Robbie you will too marry me and you will like it too"... She also must have almost died of embarrassment when I was just first potty training and she wanted me to look so pretty for church so she wanted to wait to put on my frilly panties right before we left and she was shocked to see she had forgotten to put them on when I leaned over the church pew and continued to lift my dress all the way to the bathroom..




Moms do deserve a medal for all those lovely embarrassing moments they indore. All the bumps and cuts and broken hearts they heal with there sweet kisses and bandages when we are small and as we grow up towards adulthood all the gentle wise words to guide us along our way..

I just want tell my mom I'm so proud to be your daughter and want you to know that I appreciate all the wonderful things you've done for me through my life and I'm a better person for having such a great mom so I hope you enjoy your day.. It is quite deserved it should be MOTHER'S DAY every day!!!!

I also want to dedicated this post to my Nannie my moms mother.. My Nannie was such a great lady.. I do miss her very much!!! What fond and lovely memories I have of spending summer vacations with her. She was always a barrel of laughs I do wish she was still here with us...

I also want to wish all you moms out there a HAPPY MOTHER'S Day hope you all have a wonderful day....

IT'S WHAT TIME

Time to get out there and do something about that "ugly" eye sore you call a yard...

The hubby and I spend so much time working and running around that we really have neglect our yard.. Its really and I mean really looking quite shabby..

For one thing on Easter the hubby had to dig and fix the septic tank the toliets wouldn't flush literally 2 hours before eveyone was comin... So there is a huge dirt pile in the middle of the yard(yuck!!!) So when it rains mudd getS dragged in the house and speaking of that I have very light carpet throughout the house. sO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS...

My rose bushes are outta control my dad cut them back in the winter but the last few weeks they have been growing "like a weed" and have doubled in size.. CAN'T WAIT till they bloom saw a few little buds on one this morning..So well I guess gotta get those hands dirty and start pullin all those weeds out of the flower beds replace the old mulch. Get some pretty annuals to put in my empty pots. Scrub down the patio furniture power wash the deck.. Oh my the list just keeps getting bigger..

In my front flowerbed there is this wicker chair I saw while drivin in town that someone had forgotten its beauty and had put it on the curb.. I thought to myself oh what a shame for that chair to be thrown away so I rescued it and re-purposed it in my flowerbed I love it.. its old peeling paint but I don't care I still see the vision of its beauty. By the way this rose bush was 1/2 this size about 2 months ago..
My hubby surprised me with the old cans he brought them home after helping a friend clean out an old garage.. I was gonna paint them but decided to leave them they are nice just the way they are. Do you agree??? This rose bush is a bit outta control too.. Tese flower beds have seen better days I have to get new mulch to fill theses babies. Also why is it where you want to grow grass it seems it never grows but always where you don't want it to it always does..

Well I'm off to but my garden thumb on so I can rescue my horrible yard and bring her back to her beautiful self.. Well at least tomorrow I will its getting a bit dark right now..

Its so hard to believe its my 1st nieces 16th birthday fastly approaching. She will be turning sixteen in just a few more days. Whew.. boy that really makes me feel OLD... So I'm dedicating this post to my lovely niece and god-daughter Cass..

Cass has always been the center of all our attention and if she wasn't she made sure she was. She was always such a delightful child I loved spending quality time with her. Calling her mom and saying you want a break? Secretly hoping she was ready for one.. Cass has always been so full of excitement always eager to do something new and exciting. This lil one never wanted to sleep afraid she was going to miss something but that was okay even though she was so tired she was always smiling and was such a joy..

I remember all the times we spent going to the park her tiny lil hand in mine as we walked up to the swings. Her saying "Ammy" can you push me in her sweet raspy voice. I expressed to her sure honey as I lifted her into the swing pushing her and her laughing and saying higher pleassse.

She has always been our lil dare devil never afraid of anything. Boy looking back I do miss those days. Having no children of my own Cass and her sister and brother have givin me such joy over the years always being my lil sweet "cups" full of sugar.. Cass has always been so kind always thinkin of others. Thank you my sweet lil dear for being my niece and of course what an honor it has been to be your godmother. As a young lady "boy that is so hard to say I get chocked up just thinkin of it" she is such a remarkable girl she is quite the social lite always busy running here and there driving her mom crazy however she always takes time out to be with her family. We spend Sat evening all together my hubby,sis-law-brother-law and all the kids watching movies and eating pizza usually just talking and having a blast as one happy family.

So HAPPY SWEET SIXTEEN Cass your Aunt T loves you and always will..

Yesterday was such a rewarding day..Volunteered with friends from work at a local children's hospital planting flowers in the court yard..

Enjoyed every moment even being attacked by the bugs.. It really makes you think what "we" take for granted.. The kids both live and some are just there for out patient therapy. However even though the kids have handicaps these children are so happy. The staff is wonderful and they simply love these children. I got the opportunity to spend time with little "JOEY" he was such a cutie. Even though he was unable sit up by himself after putting him in his special seat I pulled him in a wagon around the hospital property and he was so HAPPY.. Smiling and laughing well not out loud not like normal kids do but being with him only a few hours you would be surprised how you learn there way of communication. I was a bit sad when I left leaving, however my heart was full.. Just looking forward to my next visit...

So I suggest if you can give a helping hand.. Whether it be a hospital,school,a library,a nursing home or someone that is in need of a little help it really does the "heart" good. It brings you down to reality to realize all those problems you think you have really are not so bad after all.. It is quite a lesson to learn that others in this world just are happy with the life they have and make the best of it. Thank goodness for the people out there that care....

A Tisket A Tasket An Easter Egg Basket...

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter..

We had a great one even though I felt a bit under the weather.. It was so great to have everyone together in one place. The kids running all over sneaking their "sugar" filled goodies out of their baskets making their parents "CRAZY". All the ladies sitting around telling stories of past times.. I love holidays being all together is such a delight.. It seems it doesn't happen often enough though. It is quite sad when everyone is gone home and its just me and my hubby left behind.

Easter is a bit earlier this year.. April 4th "oh my" that is just around the corner..

In my neck of the woods We have the Easter holiday at our house..

My hubby's and my family all together which is so nice..

Its a bit crazy don't get me wrong all the preparation and shopping cleaning but its all worth it..

I love having the whole family together..

Hearing all the ladies sitting around the table telling funny stories..

All the guys huddled together telling each other about their latest news..

The kids running around since they are all FULL OF SUGAR..

Seeing family members that you just haven't seen in quite awhile since some of us live so far away..

These are the times you just can't take for granted..

Now for the menu I would like to have something different this year but not quite sure what as of yet..

However will be having the usual turkey & ham mash potatoes with gravy of course ,stuffing ,my mom's famous sweet potatoes..

Which my oldest niece would absoulutly die if we didn't have meme's sweet potatoes.

Cheesy broccoli casserole and fancy green beans glazed carrots and rolls..

Everyone brings a dish or two which is really nice but I wanted to threw in a few more interesting sides just not quite sure what any ideas?

For desserts which we all love..

Was thinking I would make a carrot cake but the award winning cream puffs is everyone's favorite...

June's scrumptous cream puffs that everyone fights over.. As she comes everyone can't wait till she puts the cream puffs down then its like a football game and everyone is after the ball but in this case the ball is the creampuff..

Its all in good fun we all have such a laugh over it... Good times Good times..

Can't wait... So I better hop of this puter and get busy...

I'm planning a tea party for my nieces 10th birthday this Sat..
( I will post pictures soon)... With working 40 hours a week and the usual daily life stuff it really doesn't leave to much time for party planning but I'm doing my best and hope she loves it... So I 'm gonna go for now to work on the small details..

How are you going to spend your special day?

Hubby and I will be working all day and that evening I will make us somethin special to eat and sit and cuddle for a while then off to sleep we go morning comes so fast and off to work we go....

Well its been quite cold here in South Jersey...

Once again we got more snow more to come tomorrow...

I do love the look of the glistening snow upon all the trees and the

yard but driving around in it well that is a different story...

So I stayed inside bundled up under my fav blanket and watch

some of my fav movies and just relaxed... Made some beef stew in

my crockpot for my hubby who was out shoveling snow

so he could get warm inside since it was so bitterly cold...

Let's see what tommorrow brings....

I can't Believe its Feburary...

Only a few days till Valentines Day..Hubby and I really don't go crazy over valentines day.. We usually go out to dinner & maybe the movies a couple days after..

On Valentines Day itself I will make my hubby fav meal and get one of his favorite flicks and some POPCORN and we will just sit back and relax and "lay like broccoli"..

Do you know what movie that lines from one of my all time favs PRETTY WOMAN.. Boy what a cinderalla movie for grownup girls that is.. Well maybe I can convince hubby to watch this one too. That gets me thinking there are more of my favs I would love to watch too.. Maybe I will make this weekend a "romance- a- thon" bring out all those girly movies that would be alot of fun...
